Our guided canyoning trips in the Hautes Alpes and beyond

Here are all the spots where we’ll be guiding you to discover canyoning in the Southern Alps and Dauphiné in a safe and fun way.

What is canyoning?

Canyoning consists of descending a riverbed (a canyon) by walking, swimming, jumping and/or abseiling in a natural aqualand. The sensations experienced as you make your way down the riverbed are a cross between hiking, climbing and white-water sports. The group progresses at their own pace, depending on the difficulty of the route, and using techniques adapted to the flow rate/configuration of the site/rhythm of the terrain (narrow gorges, natural slides, basins, waterfalls, boulders, etc.).

You’ll have an approach walk in an idyllic setting, during which you may be lucky enough to encounter mountain wildlife.

Please note: water trekking can be considered as level 1 canyoning: little or no verticality, low gradient, no ropes or harnesses, no abseiling/climbing, just walking and floating. Canyoning is practised in wider spaces than canyons, and the harness is replaced by a lifejacket. It therefore requires less commitment.

In the Hautes Alpes, our main activity is canyoning. It’s a great way to discover unusual sites and their natural biotope, a great way to cool off, and a great fun adventure.
